The pipe connections between butterfly valves usually have the following several methods: Flange connection: Flange connection is a common connection method for butterfly valves. It refers to the fact that both sides of the butterfly valve have flanges, and on the corresponding sides of the pipeline, matching opposite flanges are installed and connected by bolts and nuts, and then fixedly installed. Butt-weld connection: The butt-weld connection is a type of connection where the valve and the two ends of the pipeline are directly clamped together using bolts. It is convenient to use and has a low cost. Welding connection: Welding connection refers to a connection form where the valve body of the butterfly valve has welding grooves, and is connected to the pipeline system through welding. The welding connection between the valve and the pipeline is divided into butt welding connection (BW) and socket welding connection (SW). Butt welding connection (BW) can be applied to various sizes, various pressures, and high-temperature conditions, while socket welding connection (SW) is generally applicable to butterfly valves with a diameter of ≤ DN50.
Clamp connection: Clamp connection is a quick connection method that requires only two bolts and is suitable for low-pressure valves that are frequently disassembled. Threaded connection: Threaded connection is a simple connection method, often used for small-diameter valves.
Socket connection: The working principle of the socket connection is that when the nut is tightened, the socket is subjected to pressure, causing its cutting edge to bite into the outer wall of the pipe. The outer conical surface of the socket, under the pressure, is also tightly fitted with the inner conical surface of the joint, thus reliably preventing leakage.
