Structure composition:

Valve body: This is the main part of the manual plug valve, usually made of materials such as cast iron, carbon steel, and stainless steel. Its shapes include square and circular, and there is a space inside for the gate plate and a sealing structure is provided.

Gate plate: This is the key component for achieving the cutoff and conduction of the fluid. It is usually made of metal materials, and its shape and size match the internal channel of the valve body. The surface may undergo special treatment to improve the sealing performance.

Sealing element: It is used to ensure the sealing between the gate plate and the valve body. Common sealing materials include rubber and polytetrafluoroethylene. In some high-temperature or high-pressure scenarios, a metal sealing structure may be adopted.

Handwheel and transmission components: The handwheel is the manual operation component, and it drives the gate plate to move by rotating the handwheel. The transmission components include valve rods, gears, screws, etc., which convert the rotational motion of the handwheel into the linear motion of the gate plate.

Working principle: When the handwheel is manually rotated, the rotational motion of the handwheel is transmitted through the transmission components to the gate plate, causing the gate plate to move up and down or left and right along the guide rail of the valve body, thereby achieving the opening or closing of the valve. When the gate plate is fully open, the fluid passage is unobstructed; when the gate plate is fully closed, the fluid passage is cut off. Feature:

Advantages: It has the advantages of simple and compact structure, reasonable design, lightweight and material-saving, reliable sealing, convenient and flexible operation, small size, smooth passage, low flow resistance, light weight, easy installation and disassembly.

Disadvantages: The sealing surfaces of the valve are prone to erosion and abrasion, making maintenance difficult. The overall size is large. Opening requires space and the opening and closing time is long.

Application scope: Widely used in industries such as metallurgy, carbon, chemical engineering, building materials, mining, and grain, it can be used to control the flow or transportation of powder, crystal, granular materials and small pieces of materials. It can also be used in sewage treatment, ventilation systems and other pipelines.
